A holiday home in Yorkshire featured in Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe’s movie “The Woman in Black”, is ready for its close up thanks to the Sash Removal System (SRS) installed by Ventrolla.
Halton Hall, located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, invested in window specialist Ventrolla’s unique Sash Removal System (SRS) which proved an important attraction for the film company.
The removable function of the windows allowed them to easily remove the existing sash windows and replace them with rotten-looking ones to create the impression of a derelict building and produce the effect of the property being on fire.
Afterwards, the sashes were simply slotted back in place leaving the building looking as good as new. Homeowner Doug MacLeod, said:
“It’s very exciting having the house filled with a camera crew and film stars. I could never have imagined that windows would make the property famous.”
“We would be sat in front of the fire with our knees getting hot but our backs freezing cold from the icy draughts from the sash windows, before Ventrolla did the work.”
Halton Hall has also recently been hired as filming location by TV chef Jamie Oliver.
Ventrolla offers a bespoke renovation service for timber sliding sash and casement windows as well as timber doors. The central office is in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, with additional offices located throughout the UK and Ireland.
