Period homeowner, Charles Norris has restored his beautiful Victorian property in Cambridge, with the help of Ventrolla.
He enlisted Ventrolla to renovate his windows as soon as he moved into his new home in 2009, which is situated in a conservation area in the centre of the city.
The house dates back to the 1900s and has some stunning windows – there are two large bay windows at the front and a large attic window at the top of the house made up of seven panes. Mr Norris said:
“Our Architect recommended Ventrolla as our house is full of interesting windows – some sash and some casement. The triple window in the dining room needed to be replaced and Ventrolla did a wonderful job at keeping it consistent with the originals.”
“The windows now work much more efficiently – the Ventrolla system is really very good and has exceeded my expectations. I have noticed a considerable reduction in draughts and noise levels. I’ll definitely be using Ventrolla again to refurbish more windows and doors.”
Ventrolla scheduled the work around other building work being carried out on the house. The work was varied with some windows needing new sills and others needing bottom rails and joinery.
Along with fully restoring the windows, Ventrolla installed its unique Perimeter Sealing System (VPSS) into the gap around the sashes, which is designed to eradicate draughts and rattles, while ensuring that the sliding action of the windows remains smooth.
Ventrolla offers a bespoke renovation service for timber sliding sash and casement windows as well as timber doors. Its unique Perimeter Sealing System significantly improves the window’s performance and energy efficiency.
With its national headquarters in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, Ventrolla operates via a network of regional offices throughout the UK and Ireland.
